Lake Logan Multisport Festival

August 3-4, 2013

Welcome to the Lake Logan Multisport Festival and beautiful Lake Logan.  Athletes from across the county have been coming here since 2006 and found the perfect combination of beautiful scenery, fast courses, cool temperatures and amazing volunteers.  It is no wonder so many of them come back year after year.

We are calling our 2013 event a Weekend of Champions to recognize our new Champions Program, our selection to once again host the USA Triathlon Aquathlon National Championships and our new designation as the site of the USAT Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships for 2013 and 2014..  The Champions Program is bringing race winners from the North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and TrySports Triathlon Series’ to Lake Logan to compete in either the International or Sprint races.  Both races will feature a special champions wave.  To learn more about the Champions Program, click HERE.

We are also pleased to welcome Aquabike to the Lake Logan weekend of event.  This emerging sport will take place on Saturday and will consist of a 1500-meter swim and 24-mile bike.  Aquabike is great for athletes who don't like to run or can't because of physical issues but still want to be part of the multisport lifestyle.

Lake Logan may be the most beautiful triathlon venue in the country.  The swim in this pristine mountain lake has a unique course starting near the main docks but finishing under the highway bridge in the mouth of the river.  The bike courses are unusual for the mountains in that it is mostly flat and very fast.  The run courses are an out-and-back along a two-lane road along the river.  It has a 1-2% grade on the outbound leg, almost guaranteeing a negative split on the downhill inbound leg.

If you love to compete in swimming, running or triathlon, Lake Logan has something for you.  We invite you to discover for yourself, the magic of Lake Logan.

Champions Program

Our new Champions Program will bring race winners from across the region to Lake Logan to not only compete against each other but with all of the athletes who want to race at one of the country’s finest venues.

Glory Hound Events will award a complimentary entry into either the international or sprint triathlon at the 2013 Lake Logan Multisports Festival to the male and female winner of designated Set Up Events and Blue Ridge Multisports triathlons produced during the period of August 6, 2012-July 28, 2013.

At both the International and Sprint races, there will be a Champions wave that will include these winners.  This wave will start before the Open and Age Group waves.
