The 2012 Lake Logan International Triathlon has been designated a Mid Atlantic Region Special Qualifier.  Anyone finishing in the top 33% of their age group will qualify for the USAT National Championships on August 18 in Burlington, Vermont.

The original triathlon at Lake Logan celebrates its 7th anniversary as part of the Lake Logan Multi Sport Festival.  The international distance race has quickly become one of the premier races in the Southeast, attracting athletes from across the country.

Lake Logan may be the most beautiful triathlon venue in the country.  The swim in this pristine mountain lake has a unique course starting near the main docks but finishing under the highway bridge in the mouth of the river.  The bike course is unusual for the mountains in that it is mostly flat and very fast.  It is a lollipop shaped course that takes riders to and from Canton.  The run course is an out-and-back along a two-lane road along the river.  It has a 1-2% grade on the outbound leg, almost guaranteeing a negative split on the downhill inbound leg.
